Q. How is NYCLAN different from those other gaming places?
A. NYCLAN is a video game center and party venue devoted to providing the best entertainment experience possible using a video game theme. Our décor and setup is geared towards parties and is sophisticated with a cool, sleek ambiance that most venues would be envious of. We are not an Internet café nor are we a lounge with no specific focus. All our efforts and attention go into customizing for our customers the best gaming bash by making sure that they get exactly what they want.

Q. How much does a party cost?
A. Prices vary depending on the event date, space requirements, length of time, and additional features. Please see our Party Packages for more details on our birthday parties, Guys Night Out, and private rental packages.

Q. How many people can NYCLAN accommmodate?
A. Our back room can easily host 30 people and the entire facility can accommodate roughly 70 people comfortably, not including extra space for food and drinks.

Q. Should I still come if I don’t play a lot of video games?
A. Absolutely yes! We specifically design our parties for all types of gamers based on age group and level of gaming intensity. If you’re a gaming novice, we have the right mix of games to create an arcade game room, and introduce to you and your guests the wonderful world of casual pick-up-and-play games.

Q. Do you have programming for competition level gamers?
A. Of course we do. We have a strong following of competitive players who all have Memberships and train with us during the week.

Q. Do you host tournaments?
A. Although we focus on parties, we throw our own tournaments from time to time for our competitive crowd. But if you’re looking to organize a tournament at NYCLAN, we’ll help advertise for you and make sure it runs smoothly. Email us at info@nyclan.net to discuss arrangements.

Q. Do you host private events?
A. Yes, NYCLAN is happy to discuss arrangements for private events. You tell us who’s coming, and we can do the rest. We offer various packages including catering and bar services. NYCLAN Technology

Q. What kind of setup do you guys use?
A. Our Main Floor consists of 16 stations capable of supporting 4 players split screen depending on the event type. We also have a Next Gen Showcase, an area featuring every gamer's dream setup, to play the latest next gen titles. We can therefore have up to 68 players gaming simultaneously and will rotate players to ensure everyone has a great time.

All of our equipment is handpicked by gamers in-the-know to maximize gameplay quality.

Main Floor TV: Samsung TX-S2783 - 27" Slimfit Flat SDTV

Samsung's TX-S2783 has a slim and sleak design with a sizable screen, excellent sound, and impressive brightness and picture quality. More importantly, it has no video game lag and is the ideal television for gameplay with current generation consoles. It is, in other words, one of the best TVs you can buy to play today's most popular video games.

Next Gen Showcase TV: Pioneer PDP-4271HD - 42" Plasma HDTV

For those that crave the ultimate HD experience, the Pioneer PDP-4271HD is one of the top plasma televisions on the market and is more than fully capable of showing off any next gen console or HD movie with panache and flare. This plasma TV has none of the pixelation problems common in LCD technology and has an impressive frame to match its stunningly vibrant colors. If you're dreaming of an HD gaming heaven, this is definitely it.

Primary Consoles: XBOX, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Nintendo 64.

We also have XBOX 360, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo.

Q. Why is NYCLAN's equipment (gasp!) non-HD?
A. It's easy to get mezmerized by the dizzying shock value of high definition, especially when it looks oh so good. In the electronics industry, a hushed little secret has become a widespread epidemic that has caused the outrage of millions of video gamers. This problem is known as "video game lag." Some manufacturers acknowledge it while most turn a blind eye thinking ignorance is bliss. In either case, every HDTV has it, a lag that causes video games to be delayed by precious tenths of seconds between the controller and what's actually happening on the screen. Some gamers feel it more than others, but all experienced gamers can sense it immediately. The difference is between precision and complete brick-handedness. It is usually so frustrating that most gamers have two seperate TVs, an HDTV for movies, and a standard definition unit just for games. Ask any pro gamer and they'll all tell you the same thing: the only TV they train on is their standard definition tube TV.

Here at NYCLAN, we have a commitment to our gamers to focus on the only thing that truly matters - gameplay. Although we have a showcase for the top of the line HD gear and next gen systems, our speciality is in providing the best gaming experience possible and that entails providing the best game performance possible. We guarantee that all of our equipment on the Main Floor is lag-free.

Q. What games do you have?
A. Due to the party theme focus of NYCLAN, we feature mostly the best in multiplayer gaming along with some classic and retro one player titles. The titles that make our list have proven themselves to be challenging, enjoyable, and social with high replay value.

Q. Do you have support for handhelds and wireless systems?
A. Yep, you betcha. We are currently planning events for the PSP and DS so stay tuned!

Q. Do you have next gen system events?
A. Of course we do. We have every system including the Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii, and of course we have XBOX 360s. Basically, we have everything from the Super Nintendo to the latest systems on the market.
